Creating a handmade tile entails more
than cutting a square of clay! In this
one day workshop, we will discuss the
different types of clay to use in tile
making, how to minimize warping of clay,
how to calculate the shrinkage and absorption
of clay and simple techniques to create
dimensionality in the clay surface using
glazing, underglazing and other surface
decoration techniques.
