CERAMICS STUDIO

The Art Studio features a ceramics and pottery studio for the use of members with ceramics experience. Facilities include pottery wheels, electric kilns and a glazing station:

  • Electric kilns by Cress and Skutt
  • Cone 6 firings
  • 12 electric pottery wheels, 3 kick wheels
  • 5 x 20’ handbuilding table
  • Slab roller
  • Extruder
  • Three types of clay available: stoneware, porcelain and sculpture mix
  • Selection of glazes included in use fee
  • Staff-supervised kiln firings included in use fee
  • Cubbies for storage of clay and tools
  • Staffed by professional artists

Availability:
The ceramics studio is available for use 7 days a week:

Monday to Friday Noon—10:00 PM

Saturday & Sunday
Noon—5:00 PM

Membership and Use fees:
Only members of the ASUC Art Studio may use the facilities. There are three membership sessions each year: Spring semester, Summer session and Fall semester.

Ceramics Membership & Use fee for Summer 2008:

$250 / $200 UCB students

Please note the studio may be unavailable for use due to classes or holiday closings. Members may call the Art Studio at 510-642-3065 to check availability.
