As the basis for many art forms, drawing
is an essential tool and a powerful
means of expression. This course is
designed to familiarize students with
a variety of drawing materials and techniques.
Skills covered in this class will include
the rendering of contour, foreshortening,
perspective, tone and shading. The class
will work from still life setups and
projections. Exercises will range from
careful and precise to loose and energetic,
from realistic to abstracted. Mediums
used will include pencil, charcoal and
others. Individual projects are encouraged.
