Mat Cutting Workshop
John Ferdico
Wednesday, July 9, 5:00–9:00 PM
$50 / $40 UCB students
The presentation of drawings, prints,
and photographs is greatly enhanced
by an expertly cut overmat. In this
workshop, students will learn to cut
mats for a fraction of the cost paid
to a framing shop. The workshop will
train students to operate the Art Studio’s
Logan 650 professional-quality, table-top
mat cutter. In addition, the course
will introduce matting materials and
supplies, efficient and safe working
practices and strategies for presentation.
During the workshop, each student will
have an opportunity to cut a mat. Upon
completion of the workshop, students
may continue to cut mats on the Art
Studio’s mat cutter for the remainder
of the semester. ASUC Art Studio safety
certification issued at conclusion of
course. This certification is required
to use the mat cutter at the ASUC Art
Studio.
